We Make It Easy to Start and Run a Booster Club at Shadow Mountain!
What is a Booster Club?
A Booster Club is a group of dedicated parent volunteers who help “boost” the efforts of teachers, staff, and coaches by supporting school clubs, sports, and activities. Through fundraising, organization, and communication, Booster Clubs help maximize every student’s high school experience.
Why join the Shadow Mountain Red Cape Boosters (SMHS RCB)?
When you become a Booster Club member under the SMHS RCB umbrella, we take care of the hard stuff so you can focus on supporting students.
Here’s what we handle for you:
- IRS & State Filings: We manage all required IRS and Arizona paperwork to keep your club running year after year.
- Automatic 501(c)(3) Status: SMHS RCB holds a group tax exemption. That means once your club is approved, it’s immediately recognized as a tax-exempt nonprofit—no need to file Form 1023/1023EZ or pay IRS filing fees.
- Annual Reports: We file the Arizona annual corporate report on your behalf.
- Sponsorship Letter: Each club receives a fiscal sponsorship letter for the school year.
- Liability Insurance: Membership includes district-required volunteer liability insurance (your club may obtain its own policy if desired). Note: School insurance does not cover booster clubs, since they are legally separate entities.
- Company Matches: Your club is eligible to receive matching contributions from employers. (Be sure to note your club in the memo line of the contribution.)
By joining SMHS RCB, you gain all the benefits of being a recognized nonprofit booster club—without the hassle of forming your own legal entity.

NOTE: Shadow Mountain Matador PTC is offering ALL clubs 20% of the Family Membership fee for each family that joins the PTC and the member designates their affiliation with your club!
